F-Cyclo - Carbene-catalysed aryl hydrogenation to cyclohexanes with fluorine substituents
- Summary
- An efficient manufacturing process or fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives and related heterocycles
- Technology Benefits
- Selective synthesis
High yields
All-cis orientation
Access for pharmaceutically interesting substances
Different substituents possible
- Technology Application
- Fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives are used as a raw material for pharmaceutically active substances and have been chemically accessible only in low yields until now . Such compounds play a major role in the pharmaceutical or agrochemical field due to the polarity of the C-F bond with concomitant steric similarity to C-H bonds and other effects
- Detailed Technology Description
- An efficient manufacturing process for fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives and related heterocycles is obtained by hydrogenation of fluorinated aromatics with the help of rhodium carbene catalysts. Thus, fluorinated all-cis cyclohexane derivatives are readily prepared by direct hydrogenation of the fluoroaromatics.
