- *Abstract
-
This invention features a method for preparing structurally homogeneous immunoconjugates. The current procedures to synthesize drug-antibody conjugates usually lead to heterogeneous mixtures in which the number and location of the small molecules vary significantly. This is a problem not only for chemical and biological analysis, but also for FDA approval. Cornell researchers have invented a couple of methods to attach small molecules, including but not limited to agonists, antagonists, cytotoxic drugs and radioisotopes, to monoclonal antibodies. This invention will lead to the generation of drug-antibody conjugates with well-defined ratios.
