Lock-in Free Stimulated Raman Microscope

Summary

Purdue University researchers have developed a small, robust component that eliminates the lock-in amplifier currently required for stimulated Raman imaging, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio by one order of magnitude over the current lock-in based detection. By eliminating the need for the lock-in amplifier, this technology will allow high-speed stimulated Raman imaging in a simple way by non-experts.
