Lock-in Free Stimulated Raman Microscope
- 總結
- Purdue University researchers have developed a small, robust component that eliminates the lock-in amplifier currently required for stimulated Raman imaging, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio by one order of magnitude over the current lock-in based detection. By eliminating the need for the lock-in amplifier, this technology will allow high-speed stimulated Raman imaging in a simple way by non-experts.

- *Background
- Chemical imaging is the simultaneous measurement of chemical and spatial information in order to generate a visual image of the distribution of the components of a molecule. Raman imaging is a technique used to study the vibration and rotation of the molecule. Currently, stimulated Raman imaging requires a lock-in amplifier; however, the lock-in amplifier's electronic noise limits detection sensitivity.
