A Catalogue of Chinese-relevant Genetic Markers for Diabetes

Summary
The present invention identifies and describes several genes that may account for at least 14% of young onset diabetes in Chinese. These include novel mutations in the glucokinase and hepatocyte nuclear factor-1  genes, as well as known mutations in the amylin gene and mitochondrial DNA. This catalogue of genetic markers can be used as a diagnostic tool to identify subjects predisposed to diabetes.

Title: Method for estimating danger of diabetes typ B developed in the human species of Chinese bloodline and composition | Used for evaluation Chinese ancestry of the race developing 2 diabetes risk method and composition
Usefulness: Method for estimating danger of diabetes typ B developed in the human species of Chinese bloodline and composition | Used for evaluation Chinese ancestry of the race developing 2 diabetes risk method and composition
Summary: The microchip is useful for detecting an increased risk of an individual with decreased insulin secretory function to develop type 2 diabetes, screening for genetic mutations in an individual diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, screening for genetic mutations indicative of increased risk of an individual to develop type 2 diabetes, and screening for a genetic predisposition to develop type 2 diabetes in an individual having a primary family member that has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, where the individual is of a Chinese population (claimed).
Novelty: Microchip useful for detecting increased risk of, or predisposition to Type-2 diabetes or screening genetic mutations in Chinese individuals, comprises genes having mutations which indicate a predisposition for type-2 diabetes
