F-Cyclo - Carbene-catalysed aryl hydrogenation to cyclohexanes with fluorine substituents
An efficient manufacturing process or fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives and related heterocycles
Selective synthesis
High yields
All-cis orientation
Access for pharmaceutically interesting substances
Different substituents possible
Fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives are used as a raw material for pharmaceutically active substances and have been chemically accessible only in low yields until now . Such compounds play a major role in the pharmaceutical or agrochemical field due to the polarity of the C-F bond with concomitant steric similarity to C-H bonds and other effects
An efficient manufacturing process for fluorinated cyclohexane derivatives and related heterocycles is obtained by hydrogenation of fluorinated aromatics with the help of rhodium carbene catalysts. Thus, fluorinated all-cis cyclohexane derivatives are readily prepared by direct hydrogenation of the fluoroaromatics.
