Title: Fluorogenic probes for reactive oxygen species
Usefulness: Fluorogenic probes for reactive oxygen species
Summary: (I) are useful in methods for assaying a sample for a selected analyte and determining whether a compound alters the activity of an enzyme (claimed). (I) are useful as fluorogenic probes for reactive oxygen species; to detect the presence of and elucidate the complex roles of oxidants, e.g. hydrogen peroxide, in living systems, as small molecules in solution assays or as a label that is conjugated to an analyte or a species that interacts with, and allows detection and/or quantification of an analyte, as probes e.g. in microscopy, enzymology, clinical chemistry, histochemistry, molecular biology and medicine, as therapeutic agents in modalities such as photodynamic therapy and as diagnostic agents in imaging methods such as magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and near infrared imaging. (I) are also useful as components of optical amplifiers of light and waveguides and to incorporate into inks and dyes for printing currency and other negotiable instruments. The fluorogens of (I) are useful in devices and methods for measuring oxidases e.g. glucose oxidase, amine oxidase and peroxidase.
Novelty: New dioxaborolane substituted xanthone compounds useful as fluorogenic probes for reactive oxygen species, for assaying sample for selected analyte and determining if compound alters activity of enzyme
