- The invention chemical overcharge protection describes carbene complexes which are found within a lithium-ion battery above a determined charge potential, e.g. when overcharging the battery, decompose. The accumulator is thus protected due to the chemical additive in the electrolyte from overheating and explosion and increases the life.
