Anti-(rat)-and Anti -(human)-mannosidase (II) polyclonal antibodies.
- Detailed Technology Description
- Applications α-mannosidase II is a hydrolase involved in the processingof asparagine-linked oligosaccharides, is an integral membrane glycoproteinfacing he lumen of Golgi membranes. The enzyme is also a member of a growingclass of Golgi enzymes that contain globular catalytic domains anchored to thelumen of the Golgi complex by a terminal membrane-spanning domain. Man IImodifies the GIcNAcMansGlcNAc2 intermediate to complete the mannose trimmingreactions and gives rise to the endoglycosidase H (endo H)-resistant oligosaccharide,GIcNAcMan3GlcNAc2. Golgi mannosidase II (GMII) is a core component of theN-glycosylation pathway. GMII inhibitors are of interest as potentialanti-cancer or anti-infection compounds. The antibody was raised to rat Golgialpha-mannosidase II purified from rat liver by standard chromatographyapproaches. The protein was emulsified with Freunds complete adjuvant andimmunized in rabbits to generate a polyclonal antiserum. Recommended for use inimmunofluorescence.
