*Abstract
Room temperature free carrier related ferromagnetism has been observed in GaGdN. However, theferromagnetism is only observed if the GaGdN is co-doped with oxygen making the form or the structure ofthe material GaGdON and this has not been reported in the literature or elsewhere. GaGdN that did notcontain oxygen was not ferromagnetic. The use of GaGdON as the enabling material has not beencommunicated in the community but the enhancement of the ferromagnetic behavior due to co-doping ingeneral has been. The experimental evidence that the ferromagnetism is most likely free carrier relatedhas not been specifically communicated.
