*Abstract: A compiler restructuring method was developed for generating blocked codes for high-performance computers with memory hierarchy. Compared to traditional compiler techniques (tiling) this method uses reasoning about the flow of data through the memory hierarchy. So-called data-centric transformations permit a direct solution to the problem of enhancing data locality. The advantages of this method are significant based on performance benchmarking using the problem domain of dense linear algebra.
