'Fortune', a hybrid of 'Empire' by 'Schoharie Spy', combines the desirable attributes of its parents. It is a good dual-use variety, combining the favorable processing characteristics of 'Spy' with large size and good coloring (similar to 'Empire'). It appears to be widely adapted to growing regions throughout the U.S. 'Fortune' has been rated very favorably by cooperators in the Pacific Northwest, New York, New England, and the Mid-Atlantic region and has been well received in market trials.
