- *Abstract
-
Cornell researchers have developed a novel method for sending and receiving data over a communication network. Using channel state information to optimize multiple simultaneous transmissions (or multi-packet reception, MPR), network performance can be greatly improved. Further, by scheduling and performing transmissions in such a manner that the system's MPR ability is effectively harnessed, channel conditions can be favorably exploited through carrier sensing.
Potential Applications
- Wireless networks
Advantages
- Greatly enhanced network performance
- Allows full leveraging of MPR
