- Purdue University researchers have developed a novel dietary fatty acid that has a similar biological effect to TZD. This dietary fatty acid significantly improved symptoms of diabetes in animal models including a 50 to 60 percent decline in plasma insulin, triglycerides, and free fatty acids.
