Wavelength Division Multiplexed Array of Long-Wavelength Vertical Cavity Lasers

Technology Benefits

Simple wavelength adjustment

Technology Application

OptoelectronicsCommunications  This technology is available for licensing.

Detailed Technology Description

Researchers at the University of California, Santa Barbara have developed a wavelength-division-multiplexed array of long wavelength vertical cavity lasers, pumped by a short-wavelength optical pump. The wavelengths of the lasers in the array are easily tuned through bias. This device is applicable to optical communications.
