*Abstract: Researchers at the University of California, Irvine have developed new algorithms incorporated into a method that accurately and efficiently characterizes a patient’s tinnitus. In addition this new method is able to better match an external sound to the patient’s tinnitus. This new method may be used to predict optimal treatment options that include sound therapies, medications, and consulting programs.
