*Abstract: The following is a method to aggressively debride wounds in mammals non-surgically.Non-healing wounds often have non-viable tissue, or a condition called an eschar coveringthe outer layers of wound. For proper and timely healing, these nonviable layers of tissuemust to be removed prior to normal wound care management. The application ofbioactive glass to the wound as a method of aggressive debridement can eliminate theneed for costly surgical debridement in many cases.
