University of MissouriOffice of Technology Management & Industry RelationsNon-Confidential Abstract of InventionUM Disclosure No. 15UMC006Gaze Tracking-Based Visual Storytelling Security Authentication Traditional text-based passwords using alphanumeric symbols are the most commonly used method of computer user authentication. The problem with this method is that text-based passwords can be easily stolen through a variety of methods including computer hacking, finding a password written down, or simply watching someone type in the password. This problem is exasperated because long hard passwords are difficult for people to remember, which results in people writing down the passwords or attempting to simply them. Our system will address this issue by revolutionizing the computer password industry. Our method is impossible to be copied from observation, cannot be hacked with text discovering programs, and is impossible to forget. This is accomplished through the construction of a visual storytelling authentication system that combines biometric authentication with storytelling. With dynamic authentication messages that can provide accurate identification and usability robustness, we can identify users in multiple security levels.
