Domain-modified constant region antibodies
- Summary
- Lead Inventors: Sherie L. Morrison PhDAn antibody having a binding site region and a domain-modified constant region. The domain-modified constant region is a substitution, duplication, or deletion of substantially all of the amino acids of constant region domains. The functional properties of the domain-modified constant region antibodies are altered to enhance the desired biological functions for a particular application. DNA sequences encoding constructs expressing domain-modified constant region antibody heavy chains are disclosed. Further, cells expressing domain-modified constant region antibodies are also provided.Immunoglobulins having modified biological functions while retaining the broad range of binding specificity available by the use of variable regions from an easily available source are described.
