Multiple frequency antenna
- Detailed Technology Description
- A multiple frequency antenna which can adjust to exact frequencies over multiple frequency bands. This patent protected technology would decrease the requirement for broadband antennas, which receive more noise and require filtering, while at the same time decreasing co-channel interference between wireless devices.
- *Abstract
-
As demands for wireless technology continue to grow, interference between wireless devices will become even more prevalent than it is today. This is due to the fact that wireless devices typically have a much smaller bandwidth available for transmitting and receiving data than a wired device. This smaller bandwidth results in a decreased ability to provide reliable and superior reception without interference.
- *Background
- As demands for wireless technology continue to grow, interference between wirelessdevices will become even more prevalent than it is today. This is due to thefact that wireless devices typically have a much smaller bandwidth availablefor transmitting and receiving data than a wired device. This smaller bandwidthresults in a decreased ability to provide reliable and superior receptionwithout interference. Researchers from the University of Manitoba have recently developed a multiple frequency antenna which can adjust to exact frequencies over multiple frequency bands. This patent protected technology would decrease the requirement for broadband antennas, which receive more noise and require filtering, while at the sametime decreasing co-channel interference between wireless devices.
