3D Light Field Camera

Detailed Technology Description: The invention is a 3D light fieldcamera that combines a consumer DSLR camera, a cylindrical lens array attachedto the sensor, and a modified lens with a narrow-slit aperture. The camera is capable of diverging rays inone direction, while maintaining high spatial resolution in the otherdirection. Specifically, the cone of therays that emit from the object will be converged and partially blocked by thenarrow-slit on the main lens, becoming a fan of rays. These rays are optically sorted by directiononto the pixels underneath the cylindrical lens array. The number of rays captured by ourinvention depends on the sensor’sresolution.
