Real-Time Machine Emulator
- Detailed Technology Description
- Northwestern researchers have invented a Real-Time Machine Emulator (RTME) that physically emulates manufacturing work cells.
- *Abstract
-
RTME is used by work teams to test and design standard work methods in support of lean manufacturing. RTME is a kaizen tool that greatly facilitates team involvement. Once work standards are established, RTME can be used to train personnel. RTME is quick and easy to configure and implement. Because it is a physical emulator, it enables teams to visualize and test work cell ergonomics.
