Stabilised peptides to Grb7 - A new oncology drug class/target
- Detailed Technology Description
- Targeting the Grb7 adaptor protein as a potential new target for the development of oncology drugs for tumours driven by epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and/or ephrin receptors.
- *Abstract
-
Monash University researchers are targeting the Grb7 adaptor protein as a potential new target for the development of oncology drugs for tumours driven by epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and/or ephrin receptors. The team has created a library of stabilised peptides that specifically inhibit the activity of this protein in vitro and in cell assays, and have gained valuable structure/activity know-how of the target and compounds. This knowledge could form the basis of a development program forcreating novel, safe and effective anti-cancer drug compositions.
