For instance, the swelling behavior and mechanical properties may be tailored by varying components such as crosslinker, silane co-monomer, and initiator. These proppants are targeted to the oil and gas industry, and hydraulic fracturing, in particular. Dr. Advincula has developed a good dataset to support the performance of his materials, and opportunities for additional customizing are available to meet other use criteria in the marketplace.
