In Situ Marine Sample Collection System
- Detailed Technology Description
- Technology: This technology contains multiple filter sets for filtering and monitoring different marine particles and trace metals with improved retention of large particle samples. The system also contains a pump and several flow meters for inducing flow through the filters and controlling flow rates. By measurement of the respective flow rates between filters, the flow meters also can assess leakages in the system.
- *Abstract
-
Overview: A remotely-controlled marine sample collection system for filtering marine particles in situ with multiple water inlets for collecting several samples simultaneously. Attached flow meters allow for accurate volumetric measurements of pumped seawater and improved assessment of the concentration of the filtered samples, enhancing the quality of compiled data and reducing time costs.
