The computer program is designed to promote quality and efficient Health Care by timely producing Quality indicators, reflective of quality standards. The approach is non-invasive and transparent to the service unit. This is a service center approach where the analysis emphasizes INTRA rather than INTER unit variability, it is not patient centric. The indicators require an interdisciplinary approach to issue resolution. The methodology is capable of evaluating multiple dependencies relating to reducing adverse events and is supportive of pay for performance goals.The initial protocol examined is glycemic control. The reports provide evidence based criteria linking attributes of lab testing to the quality of a glycemic control program and provide useful evaluations suitable for judging when an intervention is needed to maintain suitable compliance with the clinical management protocol.Reports target the effectiveness of a unit to manage its patients employing the health system clinical management protocols. Each nursing unit is compared to itself over time. Quality management reports and remedial actions for issues and can be distributed by e-mail, printer, or Fax'd directly to the clinical management staff.
