Schematic is a program written in S for the analysis, classification and schematic representation of bivariate relationships among multiple risk factors for a given outcome. Given a dataframe with one variable variable identified as the outcome, Schematic will:1) display a table summarizing the variables in the data frame. 2) display a matrix of Spearman correlations between the variables in the data frame.3) determines which variables in the data frame are candidates for risk factors (based on specified correlational criteria).4) performs multiple regression analyses (for continuous outcome variables) or logistic regression analyses (for binary outcomes) for each pair of candidate risk factors and display a summary of the results. 5) classifies each pair of risk factors as having independent, overlapping, mediation, moderation or proxy relationships with one another.6) draws a schematic diagram summarizing the results for each pair of risk factors. Two versions of SCHEMATIC are available:1) schematic.ssc for S-Plus for Windows 2) schematic.r for S-Plus for Unix or R (any operating system) SCHEMATIC is available from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry for use by academic and not-for-profit institutions at no charge and by commercial interests for a small fee for copyright use. Any individual or institution requesting a copy will complete an End User License Agreement (EULA) with the University of Pittsburgh. Should you prepare a publication containing results obtained from Schematic, we ask that you provide us with one copy of the publication and acknowledge grant number MH030915 for utilizing the SCHEMATIC program.
