METHOD FOR FAST PRODUCTION OF MOULDS

Summary: The invention consists of a quick manufacturing method for molds for custom and unique items.

Technology Benefits: The proposed method involves the production of extruded
polystyrene by hot-wire blade-blade. The process is fast and polystyrene is coated by thermoforming
from a plastic sheet. This surface treatment gives stiffness and aesthetic finishing quality
sought after. Smooth plastic can give a mirror finishing feature to the surfaces of the elements, and depending on the type of plastic film loose on the material, it is possible to get embossed embossing or pattern
patterns at the bottom of the mold, extending considerably the expressive possibilities of the article. Thanks to this method of mold production, it is possible to
implement the so-called mass-customization process of components for architecture and design. It is thus possible to manage the continuous and systematic variation of cost-effective items. This is due to the lower cost of mold production (cheaper materials,
reduced processing times than current production methods).
