- PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushion material effectively using the stem of shell ginger, improving persistence of the odor of the shell ginger, having a sufficient elasticity as a core material for bedding and being usable for a pillow, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: This cushion material is so constituted as to bundle a predetermined number of stems 3 of the shell ginger cut into a predetermined length and vertically split, pack them into small bags and connect the small bags 4 in a parallel direction. This manufacturing method of the cushion material includes to collect the stem parts of the shell ginger, cut them into a predetermined length and then wash them, perform vertically split work of splitting the stem parts vertically, and after drying, form them into a rod shape with elasticity.
