- PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a heat shielding block, obtained by integrating a heat shielding layer with a block itself such as a heat shielding block in providing a roof, a rooftop and an outer wall of heat shielding structure in a building.SOLUTION: In this heat shielding block, the heat shielding layer obtained by using a pellet of calcium carbonate discharged in the hard water reducing treatment as aggregate and bonding the same with a white cement, is integrally stacked on the top face of a block laid on the roof, the rooftop or the outer wall of the building in molding the block, and cured. The heat shielding layer is thus integrally stacked on the top face of the block before curing so that high bonding strength is secured. Furthermore, the pellet of calcium carbonate has high hardness, so that enough mechanical strength and weather resistance can be attained. Then, even if intense ultraviolet ray is applied to the block, separation and deterioration of the heat shielding layer can be restrained, so that a long life can be attained combined with improvement in integrated bonding strength, and the layer functions as a protective layer for the block surface as well. Since the block is white, heat shielding effect is high and re-coating of white coating layer or the like is not needed.
