Securing a digital transaction, in particular a contactless payment transaction
Method steps: the terminal transmits a transaction request message to the data carrier. Upon receipt of the transaction request message, the data carrier emits a transaction request notification signal. If the notified transaction is not supposed to be carried out, a transaction rejection signal can be input into the data carrier within a predefined transaction deferring interval. A planned transaction can be carried out without requiring any further action by the user.
A method for preventing a transaction from being unintentionally carried out between a contactless data carrier (e.g. smart card, smart phone, etc) and a terminal via a contactless data transmission channel, in particular via an air interface securely prevents relay attact
Can easily be integrated into existing systems and protocols.
Interesting for manufacturers of chip cards, smart phones credit card issuers etc.
