Multifunctional Heat Rejection Coating

Summary
This technology presents a method to produce an indium-free, thin, self-cleaning and scratch resistant multifunctional heat rejection coating, via vapour deposition technique, using low cost materials. This technology has a high heat rejection in the near infrared range, which significantly reduces the heat passing through the window or door panel, reducing the usage of air-conditioning. It also has high transparency in the visible light range resulting in more natural light passing through, reducing the lighting usage in the day. Hence, it can significantly reduce the overall electrical usage. Furthermore, our coating also has ultraviolet filtering properties, which reduces the potential fading effects caused by ultraviolet and thereby extends the lifetime of furnishings.
Technology Benefits
Energy saving in air-conditioning and lighting during daytimeReduction in UV penetration through coated substrateReduce frequency of cleaningMore lasting and durable coatingUses small quantity, low cost and non-toxic materialsLightweight and thin coating
Technology Application
This technology is applicable to any glass panel which needs to be transparent and wish to reduce heat from entering to the interior. The potential industries are:BuildingsWindowsDoorsSolar panelsAerospaceWindowsAutomotiveWindows
