- Summary
- Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) is an innovative construction method whereby free-standing volumetric modules (with finishes, fixtures, fittings, etc.) are manufactured off-site and then transported to a construction site for installation. The merits of MiC include shortened construction period, better quality control, less demand for on-site labor, reduction in construction waste, etc. To address the increasing demand of housing units and shortage of construction workers in Hong Kong, NAMI has developed MiC steel/concrete hybrid structural systems using high performance concrete and steel materials to improve the productivity of the local industry.
