- The gas washout system is designed to eliminate hydrocarbons from the lung. It has been shown to eliminate carbon monoxide significantly faster than O2 administration alone and on par with treatment in a hyperbaric chamber. With the system, CO victims can now be treated immediately at the scene, or during transport, without the long wait for hyperbaric treatment.
