An Inline Hydroelectric Generating System in Confined Condition
An inline vertical axis hydroelectric systme is designed for harnessing hydropower in a confined environment and intstalled in a mins pipe with an opening. This system includes a connecting device, a special inlet nozzle, a power input device, and an electricity generating device. The connecting device includes the short pipe section attachedto the opening of hte mains pipe. An eye-shape inlet nozzle which can improve the power output of the hydro turbine is located upstream of the hydor turbine. The power converting deivce is a spherical hollow veritcal turbine with multiple bending blades which are held by upper and lower ring frames. The bending direction of the blades is opposite to the rotating direction of the vertical turbine. A shaft extending form one of the ring frames of the veritcal turbine connects with the generator to convert part of water head and kinetic energy into electrical power. The inline-type hydroelectric systme is suitable for installation in mains pipes wiht small diameter and low flow speed.
