The use of Guttiferone F, a natural compound from Garcinia Esculenta, in treating human prostate cancer
- Summary
- This invention relates to a chemical entity isolated from natural sources for its therapeutic uses. More particularly, it relates to a compound that is naturally occurring in the plant of Garcinia esculenta and its biological activity of antitumor effects.
- Technology Benefits
- Providing a natural compound extracted from Garcinia esculenta for use in treating human prostate cancer
- Technology Application
- The invention has application in treating human prostate cancer.
- Detailed Technology Description
- This invention have screened various components using different cancer cells, and found that prenylated benzophenones had potent cytotoxic effects on human prostate cancer cell lines. In this invention, we found that Guttiferone F could inhibit the growth of prostate cancer by apoptosis significantly. Together, intratumor administration of Guttiferone F inhibited prostate cancer growth in nude mice. Thus, Guttiferone F can be developed as anticancer drug against prostate cancer.

Title: Methods and products for treating diarrhea and scours: use of clotrimazole and related aromatic compounds
Usefulness: Methods and products for treating diarrhea and scours: use of clotrimazole and related aromatic compounds
Summary: USE The compounds are used to treat or prevent diarrhoea or scours preferably in a human, horse, cow, pig or goat. The compounds are potent inhibitors of secretagogue-stimulated transepithelial electrogenic chloride secretion in intestinal cells.
Novelty: Use of aromatic compound for treating diarrhoea and scours e.g. miconazole, econazole and clotrimazole
