- In 19th century China, Chen Xiang opens a martial arts school to teach his technique that combines Northern and Southern styles.
When a contest is held by foreigners, Chen beats fighters from Russia, Japan and Germany to demonstrate the superiority of Chinese martial arts.
But the match brings the attention of the Qing Prince who kidnaps Chen's students to coerce him to fight for the corrupt Qing dynasty. To free them, Chen reveals his true powers.
Chen is the founder of Choy Li Fut martial arts. A true historical figure, he led the militia to protect his homeland from foreign powers.
