Frederic Castet was born on 14 July 1929 in Toulouse, the southern part of France. After his studies at the Haute Couture School in Paris, he was appointed to work with two giants of the Haute Couture : Mr. Cristobal Balenciaga from 1951 to 1953 and Mr. Christian Dior from 1953-1957.

After Mr. Christian Dior passed away in 1957, Frederic Castet was appointed as Chief Designer of Couture and Ready-to-wear of CHRISTIAN DIOR in London.

In 1968, he created the Department of Fur and Leather Apparel for CHRISTIAN fashion world by launching his first collection of Pre-a-Porter Fourrure. For more than 25 years thereafter, Frederic Castet designed the fabulous fur styles for CHRISTIAN DIOR and his name was then recognized internationally.

After working for CHRISTIAN DIOR for 35 years, Frederic Castet resigned in September 1988 and formed Federic Castet International S.A. In the beginning of 1989, he launched his first FREDERIC CASTET total-look collection (ready-to-wear, fur, leather, bags, accessories) at the Carre du Louvre in Paris.

In October 1989, FREDERIC CASTET flagship boutique was opened in rue Pierre Charron, near Champs Elysees, right in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Paris.

Since then, the fame of FREDERIC CASTET became stronger and stronger.

He built an international clientele and among his prestigious clients and faithful friends were Sophia Loren, Marlene Dietrich, Elisabeth Taylor, Sylyle Vartan, Mireiile Mathieu, John Travolta and many other celebrities.

In September 2003, he started to launch his collection in Korea and was well received. As at this date, there are over 100 shops in Korea.

At leisure time, Frederic Castet enjoys riding horses and attending opera and theatre performances. The symbol he has chosen for his House of fashion, the giant sunflower, has been inspired by the sunny southwestern part of France where he came from.
