Summary: The invention creates a pattern-based conversion model to identify ad hoc numerical phrases to increase the accuracy of simplified to traditional Chinese character conversions. The fact that one simplified character can correspond to several traditional Chinese characters of different meanings undermines the accuracy of automatic conversion of characters. The technique proposed here is designed to solve this problem through the use of phrasal patterns derived from learning.
