Coreless Printed-Circuit-Board (PCB) Transformers and Operating Techniques Therefor
- IP Title
- Coreless Printed-Circuit-Board (PCB) Transformers and Operating Techniques Therefor
- Summary
-
Transformers are used for energy and signal transfer and for providing electrical isolation. CityU researchers have developed a coreless PCB-based transformer that does not require a transformer core, thereby reducing production cost and simplifying the automated manufacturing of transformers. The invention also controls the operating frequency of the coreless transformer, providing optimal operating techniques for coreless PCB transformers under conditions of minimum input power and maximum energy efficiency. The resonant frequency of the transformer can be adjusted.
