Due to the growing demand for renewable energy sources (“green energy”), the manufacturing of photovoltaic devices has been steadily increased. Photovoltaic devices convert light energy to electricity. One type of photovoltaic device is a photovoltaic module. Many commercially available photovoltaic devices for the application in consumable electronics are expensive due to high production costs.
Organic photovoltaic (OPV) cell is receiving a surge of interest in developing low-cost, flexible, large area and renewable energy sources. Regioregular polythiophene and fullerene blend is one of the most promising candidates for realizing practical high efficient polymer photovoltaic application. On the other hand, phthalocyanine are robust materials and can be obtained in a large quantity and in high purity with low cost. Herein we fabricate BHJ photovoltaic modules based on polymer blend incorporated with Pc nanocrystals through solution process.
