Rapid Species Identification by DNA Analysis

Summary

The invention proposes to identify specific animal species by using DNA technologies. Although there are alternative technologies on the market, some of them are time-consuming, technologically complex, and require sophisticated equipment and heavy investment. Some technologies fail to distinguish a specimen when the sample contains multiple sources of animal species tissues, or cannot distinguish a specimen in one experiment. The novel testing method developed by the University aims to tackle the problems stated above.
