- Summary
-
The organic electroluminescent device (OLED) is a new, superior emissive and very thin flat panel display (FPD). Because of its superior performance in brightness, contrast, color, pixelation, nano-scale structure, wider viewing angle, faster response time for full motion video, low power consumption, wider operating temperature range, greater environmental durability and flexible panels, the OLED technology is expected to replace or compete with small-area LCD products in the next few years. We are committed to introducing and transferring the OLED technology to local FPD manufacturers to help them sharpen their competitive edge in the low-end FPD market.
With the backup of the Center of Super-Diamond and Advanced Films at CityU, we have been a leading expert in OLED technology in Hong Kong and the mainland. The Center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as a deposition system, clean room, a photolithography system, and comprehensive and multifunctional testing and analytical equipment for continuous development of OLED. We also help industry develop and analyze new OLED products. We have developed a passive matrix driven full color 96RGB x 128 OLED display and a 2-inch white OLED lighting. The technologies are ready for manufacturing and commercialization.
