Generating Full-Parallax Digital Holograms
- Summary
-
Conventional digital holography involves a high amount of computation to generate an object scene, imposing a significant bottleneck to practical applications. The invention presents techniques for efficiently generating full parallel 3D holographic images of a 3D real or synthetic object scene. The holographic generator component (HGC) can downsample the scene by a define downsampling factor and generate an intermediate object wavefront recording plane that can be placed in close proximity to the scene. The HGC can utilize look-up tables to store and use wavefront patterns of each region of an image to facilitate reduction of computational operations in generating the holographic images.
