An E-mail Encryption and Signing Software based on ECC and Chaotic Cryptography
This software utilizes both public-key and private-key cryptographic schemes for encryption and signing of e-mail content and attachments. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is selected for public-key cryptography while chaotic cryptography is chosen for private-key cryptography. The use of ECC reduces the key distribution loading as the public key can be broadcasted. The system parameters used in chaotic cryptography are the secret keys to be exchanged via ECC. Moreover, signing on the e-mail content and attachments is performed by Elliptic Curve Digital
Signature Algorithm (ECDSA).
• efficient implementation of ECC using our proposed fast algorithm based on double-base chain scalar representation and point halving; • key length of ECC is much shorter than that of RSA; • effective integration of public-key and private-key cryptography; • a PC version as well as a PDA version of this software have been developed.
