Methods for Temperature Control in Microwave Processing
Methods for Temperature Control in Microwave Processing
Microwave processing is a popular thermal processing technique because of its speed and efficiency. This technology concerns methods for temperature control in microwave processing procedures that include microwave annealing, sintering, and other forms of microwave heating. The material so processed can be formed into a selected shape and size, and part of it shall reach a state of thermal equilibrium at a desired temperature. At thermal equilibrium, the energy absorbed from the microwave irradiation is balanced by the heat dissipated to the environment. By selecting the mass, density, shape and dimensions of the sample, the temperature at which this equilibrium is reached can be adjusted.
