This is a follow-up patent on previous patent on reflective liquid crystal display (LCD), US patent no. 5,926,245. This patent discloses practical method of making reflective LCD.

In the previous patent, a new type of reflective LCD was introduced and that only one front polarizer is therefore needed. This new invention describes the structure of the rear reflector and how it can be formed on the inside of the backplane of LCD. Several designs of this reflector and methods of making them are disclosed.
