Application of 1550nm Femtosecond Laser to Transfect mammalian Cells
- Summary
- The present invention provides a new method of using femtosecond laser at the wavelength of 1550nm to briefly illuminate mammalian cells in order to perforate their plasma membrane and to transfect foreign DNA into the mammalian cells for protein expression. This system allows investigators and users to perform targeted photoporation or transfection on selected cells with minimal invasion. Also, the transfection efficiency from this system is very high under optimal conditions.
