Superparamagnetic Iron-oxide Particles and Polymer based Chemoembolisation System for Trans-catheter Targeted Delivery, Selective Retention, Magnetic Targeting, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contrast
- Summary
- Multi-functional superparamagnetic iron oxide nanomaterials and biocompatible polymer based chemoembolisation systems were constructed. These systems allow trans-catheter targeted delivery, selective retention in tumor tissue, magnetic targeting, and magnetic resonance visualization. The tumor can be deprived of blood supply due to the embolisation. The anti-cancer drug can be slowly released in tumor site, or the anti-cancer drug nanomaterials can be up-taken by tumor cells and causing enhanced cytotoxicity to tumor cells.
