Self-Powered, Self-Sensing Magnetorheological Dampers
- Summary
- The present invention provides an ideal solution for vibration mitigation systems. Provided is a self-powered, self-sensing magnetorheological (MR) damping device that has electrical power generation, velocity sensing ability while providing controllable damping force, comprising a mechanical assembly and an electrical part. Also provided is an electrical circuit applicable to devices that have electrical power generation, velocity sensing and MR damping capabilities. A method for extracting relative velocity information from voltages of a multi-pole linear electromagnetic power generator is provided as well.
